Dr. Yvette Vernor Dye

I graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of '78.  WHOOP!!!  I then graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston in 1981, with my doctorate of dental science degree and went to Baylor College of Dentistry, The Texas A&M University Health Science Center for my specialty training in pediatric dentistry.  I graduated there in 1983.  My training included didactic classes at Baylor but also included hands-on experience at Children's Medical Center, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and Denton State School to provide a well balanced educational experience.  I continually update my educational training with a variety of classes, reviews and reading research articles pertinent to this field.  I have been practicing pediatric dentistry in Denton since 1985.

I have a beautiful daughter who attends Denton High School and plays on the soccer team, runs cross country and plays violin in the orchestra.  Due to the generous donations by friends and colleagues to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training I have completed five marathons, two century bike rides and one Olympic distance triathlon and most recently a half marathon.  The half marathon was at Disney World with my daughter.  She slowed down and ran all 13.1 miles with me.  She's already making plans to run again next year.  It looks like I may have to get faster for her to run with me again.  It was a great experience for both of us!

We are also involved with Girl Scouting.  Our troop is an active one that enjoys camping, canoeing and kayaking.  They also do many service projects for the community and scouting.

I am a native Texan.  I grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas where my dad was an engineer for Dow Chemical Company and my mom taught business at Brazoswood High School.  I have two siblings, a brother who is a coach in West Columbia and a sister who is a diagnostician for the Pleasanton School District.
